Today’s guest post is by Adriane from the Earth Balance® PR and Marketing Team. Adriane recently attended Vida Vegan Con in Portland, OR – the first ever vegan blogger conference!
The event brought together vegan bloggers, chefs, authors and educators from all over the country to discuss the ins and outs of managing a successful blog. Here she is sharing her experience at this vegtastic event:
Heading to Vida Vegan Con, I was excited, but not sure what to expect, as there has not been an event like this before. As soon as I arrived I knew that it was going to be an epic event – and it was!
Vida Vegan Con was founded by three vegan bloggers on a mission to celebrate, explore and fine-tune their practice, and unite the ever-growing community of vegan bloggers. There were over 250 bloggers that came to Vida Vegan Con, as well as amazing speakers, from well-known vegan authors, including Colleen Patrick Goudreau and Isa Chandra Moskowitz to vegan chefs, such as Fran Costigan, and extraordinary vegan bloggers Terry Hope Romero, Laura Beck and many more.
In addition to the speaker panels, the sessions covered a wide range of topics relevant to the vegan blogging world, discussing food, nutrition, writing skills, marketing, activism and more. The conference wasn’t just about education however, there were tons of fun activities, from a sneak preview of the new documentary Vegucated, to a vegan game show, cooking demonstrations, and an all vegan Galarama event (complete with a Coconut Bliss ice cream sundae station… need I say more?!).

In my opinion, the best part of the conference (in addition to meeting vegan celeb bloggers), was the food! Breakfast, lunch and dinner, every meal was a fantastic offering of vegan deliciousness, including options for gluten-free and raw foodists as well.
Overall, attending the conference was an amazing, inspiring experience, and I look forward to the next Vida Vegan Con in the spring of 2013! Want to hear more?
